Readers you need PR I need your stories

If you’ve been reading, following, or working with me for a while you’ll know that at the start of my career I worked in journalism and not PR. After a short stint in a national news agency newsroom, I realised that whilst I loved writing, meeting people and hearing their stories, journalism wasn’t for me. I wanted to be a magazine journalist, not a news journalist and sadly at that time more than 20 years ago that was highly unlikely unless you had means. Magazines offered internships and work experience but when you’re from a single parent family in Birmingham having the funds to go and live in London for a month with no pay is not something that is possible.

With the rise of the internet and more online publications the world of journalism has opened up to more people, which is a good thing as we get to hear from more diverse voices. This has also encouraged me to revisit my love of writing and pitch the occasional piece to publications. At the moment I am waiting for a piece that I have written for Metro to be published. I have been writing about my own individual experiences, but I would love the opportunity to put my skills to writing more real-life stuff or articles about things I am passionate about but that need expert comment.

This is where you come in. Do you have a brilliant story that you think the world should hear? It could be a tale of love, friendship, how you founded your business, a health scare, over coming adversity. Anything that you want to get off your chest I’d love to hear it and see if we can share it with the world.

Alternatively, are you an expert in fitness, mental health or parenting that would be willing to be called upon for quotes and input when I write about these topics.

Not only would this be a great chance for you to share your story or knowledge it also gives you a chance of obtaining some free PR for your business and raise awareness of who you are and what you do.

If you are interested, please email me in confidence to arrange a call where we can discuss your story and see whether it is something that between us, we can share more widely.
